There are plenty of cool games you can play to relax that isn’t all about stabbing and shooting things. While you might have a game in mind when you’re thinking about this style of game, I’m going to go ahead and recommend you replace that game with Slime Rancher. Now, I know it can be hard to let go of the old and bring in something new, but I promise you it’ll be worth it.
In Slime Rancher, your goal is to ranch slimes. I’m tempted to end the article there, but I’d have to tell myself off, and that’s really not worth the existential crisis it would inevitably cause. Anyway, Slime Rancher is a first-person farming game that has you taking over a Slime farm in space and trying to keep building it up until you can build it up even more and also solve some mysteries and whatnot. It’s fairly standard stuff for a farming game, but what makes Slime Rancher so cool is the way in which you go about looking after your little gelatinous buddies.
You run around with a vacuum that can suck up slimes and then spit them back out. You can use this to guide them into the places you need them, give them food, and even breed different varieties if you’re feeling a little spicy. Just be aware that sometimes they’ll become evil and ruin your entire farm if you’re not paying attention. It happened to me, I was sad, and my poor little slimes tried to eat me.
