I think free games are awesome. It’s something that wasn’t around at all when I was a kid, and the idea of being able to keep up with some of the biggest games of all-time without having to pay anything for them is an absolute joy.

Dogs are good. It is for this reason that so many games let you know you can pet the dogs in them before other details come out. We should all endeavour to be a bit more like dogs in real life and make sure we’re loyal, enjoy life to the fullest, and tilt our heads sideways when we’re kind of confused?

Trudging through the snow towards the top of Mundaun’s mountain, I spy a shape shambling in the distance. The cruel horns that protrude from its head bring to mind the severed goat’s head in my backpack, and the twin peaks of the mountain that have loomed over me from the very beginning of my journey.

Games are at their best when they’re doing something interesting. It’s one of the reasons I like writing about indie games so much, because they’re nearly always doing something a bit different, whether that’s in terms of gameplay, mechanics, or just the general feel.

Growing up in the midwest, I feel pretty qualified to say I’ve never played a game about middle America in the way that Adios is about middle America. The debut game from Mischief is the story of a Kansan pig farmer who decides to stop working with the mob.

I wrote about Streets of Rage 4 around a month ago, so I like to think that the fact that we’re getting , is thanks to that. Obviously I know it’s not, but it’s nice to pretend. Anyway, the game has our four reptilian heroes back at it again to beat up basically everything that stands in their path.

Neurodeck is a unique spin on the classic build em up style card deck gameplay. The ideas in it are fascinating, but at its core, it’s still a game all about finding a good strategy and sticking to it.

There are plenty of cool games you can play to relax that isn’t all about stabbing and shooting things. While you might have a game in mind when you’re thinking about this style of game, I’m going to go ahead and recommend you replace that game with Slime Rancher.
